Luke & Little Big Town
Summer 2016 Luke Bryan, Little Big Town & Dustin Lynch played the 1st concert at US Bank stadium. Luke is that good ol’ boy from Georgia who would like fans to believe he still drives a pick-up truck & hangs out in the Georgia back country. Luke “country entertainer of the year” has been a super star for years & commands some of the highest concert fees ever paid in the world of high ticket prices & climbing service fees. In contemporary country fashion Luke sings about the great American story that almost anyone can relate to. His lyrics about the farmer, good hard work vs the ‘me’ attitude plays a message we should all listen to. Luke opened the night with “Rain is a Good Thing“. I was hoping he would have done “Here’s to the Farmer” I’d love to hear him do that song with just a guitar.
Little Big Town were picked best vocal act at the 2016 CMA . If you were channel flipping between the CMA’s & the World Series that evening you might have caught Luke & LBT! LTB’s Karen Fairchild joined Luke on-stage for several songs, ‘Home Alone Tonight’ & ‘Thinking Out Loud’ both of these artists singing in great harmony.
Luke wanted to be the 1st artist to sing the national anthem at our new football stadium, he reminded the audience that he can check that one off the list now. Mixing the sound at US Bank stadium this evening must have been a tense & constant work in progress. Luke handled things well & gave a performance that Minnesota fans loved & will remember. A large stadium space like this would have been rough on the folks sitting way up top. Luke closed the evening with “I don’t want this Night to End”. Here is Luke’s main version of “Here’s to the Farmer” one of my favorite all time songs about the American experience & our farmers.
