The two Kentucky natives played Medina Entertainment Center Friday evening, the predicted snow storm fizzled so this was a full house. Country fans were not disappointed – their set list included many old favs. Hearing “Where I Come From” & “Something to Be Proud Of” brought in a little nostalgia.
Eddy & Troy still defiantly & comfortably Redneck. Their brand of country remains off the path of modern pop. With 20 plus charted singles and a brand they have built on blue collar pride they look comfortable.
The opener this evening was Walker County – sisters from Indiana, they have strong southern style harmonies. The gals sound like they are from further south than Indiana. Sophie Dawn, younger sister is a damn good drummer & singer.
Montgomery Gentry just recorded new material with Grammy-Nominated Producer, Noah Gordon. The new album will release in late 2017 on Average Joes Entertainment. Tonight the guys were singing to old fans and some new ones and the Medina main floor was packed. My personal favorite might be “My Town”. The guys continue to support great causes such a Wounded Warriors and other charities that support our troops. Their connection to these causes are a big part of who they are & why folks love them. Medina is a great venue for these guys & I hope they come back in town.
